Supporting Our Association
The Ashford Beekeepers Association is managed by a dedicated team of volunteers who generously give their time to support our members and help the Association thrive.
Our committee works throughout the year to organise meetings, educational events, apiary sessions, beginner courses and community activities, while ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the Association.
Every committee member is also an active member of ABKA who shares a passion for beekeeping and a commitment to creating a welcoming and supportive community.
Jean Taylor - Chairperson
Our Chairperson provides leadership to the Association, chairs committee meetings and works with the committee to guide the future direction of ABKA and ensuring we remain welcoming, active and focused on our members.

Dan Quill - Treasurer
Our Treasurer looks after the Association’s finances, membership income and financial reporting. He ensures that the associations funds are managed carefully and responsibly.

Patricia Doyle - Secretary
Our Secretary helps keep the Association organised and connected. She coordinates the committee meetings, manages correspondence and maintains key Association records, while helping ensure that information is shared clearly between the committee and the wider membership.

Tony Greene - Membership Secretary
Our Membership Secretary is one of the first points of contact for new and existing members. He looks after membership records, renewals and enquiries, helping make the process of joining and remaining part of ABKA as straightforward and welcoming as possible.

Jess Doolan - Media and Communications Officer
Our Media & Communications Officer helps keep members and the wider community connected with what’s happening across ABKA. She supports the Association’s social media, news and communications, sharing events, educational content and stories from our beekeeping community while helping to promote ABKA’s friendly, inclusive and collaborative ethos.

Janet McMahon - Education Officer
Our Education Officer helps members develop their knowledge and confidence as beekeepers. she coordinates ABKA’s beginner courses, talks, workshops and practical apiary sessions, while encouraging members of all experience levels to learn from one another and share good beekeeping practice in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Getting Involved
The Association is always pleased to welcome members who would like to become more involved.
Whether you can offer a few hours helping at an event, assist with our association apiary, support new beekeepers through mentoring, contribute to communications, or serve on the committee, every contribution helps strengthen our Association.
